Australia is a great place to get away from the noise that people make and loose yourself in the wilds.
I am lucky in that my best friend lives in one of these wilder places, his sister says he has “gone seriously woop woop”. He and his wife live in Queensland and he enjoys taking his friends into places in Australia where the vast majority of Aussies never venture. The wildlife recordings here are the results of those trips ---- photography was very much a secondary focus.
For those interested in wildlife recording in Australia I recommend joining the Australian Wildlife Sound Recording Group (AWSRG). They are an enthusiastic bunch of people and they have helped me considerably while in Aus. I am now their Overseas Representative, so anybody interested in joining please e mail me and visit their website at www.awsrg.org.au.
